NORWICH — The Chenango SPCA will be holding the "Paws and Pints" fundraiser this Saturday, August 7, at Hidden Springs Brewhouse in Norwich. The event will run from 1 to 7 p.m., and will be host to bands, a magician, a pet parade, and more.
"Families time is kind of from 1 to 4 [p.m.], and then after that from 4 to 7 [p.m.] will be, we'll have a band," said Chenango SPCA Executive Director Annette Clarke. "We'll have food trucks, Gilligan's will be there with an ice cream truck. And then it's just kind of a way to celebrate the end of the summer."
The fundraiser is to help raise money for the Chenango SPCA, which costs approximately $370,000 per year to run, according to Clarke.
"We're a private organization, we do not receive any funding from the government. So even though we are the Chenango SPCA, the county does not fund us," said Clarke. "It costs us $1,000 a day to run the shelter, and so we have to raise all of that money."
Musicians that will be performing include the Double Knot Duo, Emily Davie, and DJ Jack Rutan. Magician Ryan Bliss from CNY MagicShows will also give a performance from 2 to 4 p.m.
There will also be a pet parade, which Clarke said is for pet owners to "parade them around and show them off."
